Since I haven't uploaded anything in a while (other than the darkness sketch) I figured I would show a typical pencil page. This is actually a lot cleaner than I normally do.
I basically do panel layouts on a seperate piece of paper, just to get a "feel" for panel size. A lot depends on what is going on (description wise) as well as dialog - as far as determining the panel sizes. I'm rather notorious for breaking panels - not always a good thing - and I have friends that point that out all the time. But its "fun". Lately, I've been looking at some other types of layouts, that kinda break the traditional mode of rectangular panels. This was a small attempt at that, with the Harpy....as time continues to go on, I keep experimenting with different layouts.
Anyway - now you can see some of the methodology to my madness.
BTW - this is a page from Ray Harryhausen Present: Jason and the Argonauts #3
